Provisional membership may be offered to instructors who lack the requisite
instructing experience and are otherwise qualified as per the provisional entrance
exam.
Each applicant's qualifications are evaluated on the basis of an extensive
written test which may be supplemented by personal interviews, observation,
or video tape which the applicant may be asked to provide. General knowledge
of dog behavior is evaluated as well as the ability to deal with specific training
situations. Training methods are examined and evaluated for behavioral soundness.
Finally, teaching skills and overall integrity are considered.
Additional endorsements require an additional 52 class hours of instructing
at each level and are dependent upon endorsement at the previous level.
